English language programs

Before you start your studies at UniSQ, you will need to meet specific English language levels. Designed specifically for students from non-English speaking backgrounds, our English language and short-term training programs will prepare you for entry into a UniSQ degree, enhance your career prospects and improve your written and spoken English.
Our General English program provides teaching and support to assist in improving English language skills. Offering three levels of English study depending on your current skill level, the program is flexible to individual needs.

If you need to meet specific English language requirements of a particular degree there are two options for you.

English for Academic Purposes

For students wanting to prepare for study at UniSQ, our English for Academic Purposes program is the ideal option. Upon successful completion, you can go on to study degrees at UniSQ which has an English language entry requirement of IELTS 6.0, or equivalent.

Academic Communication Skills program

For students wishing to meet advanced language requirements for all UniSQ degrees or for registration purposes, our Academic Communication Skills program is the best choice. Upon completion you will be prepared to study degrees with a high English language entry requirement, such as IELTS 6.5-7.5, or equivalent.

Our Study Tour programs provide a unique opportunity for students, academics and professionals to build upon their English language skills. Hosted at the UniSQ Toowoomba campus, the programs are custom designed to meet your group’s specific requirements.

You’ll also have the opportunity to practice your newly-acquired language skills by participating in a number of cultural, tourist and leisure activities.
