Competition Terms and Conditions: Headstrong Online Program Closed Facebook Competition

  1. The Headstrong Online Program Closed Facebook Competition (‘Competition’) is conducted by the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Queensland, 4350, ABN: 40 234 732 081 (USQ).
  2. The Competition commences at 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 3 April 2017 (‘Start Date’) and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 24 September 2017 (‘End Date’) (‘Competition Period’) and consists twelve (12) rounds, each Round having a commencement and conclusion date.
    (a) Round one (1): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 3 April 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 9 April 2017.
    (b) Round two (2): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 10 April 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 16 April 2017.
    (c) Round three (3): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 17 April 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 23 April 2017.
    (d) Round four (4): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 24 April 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 30 April 2017.
    (e) Round five (5): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 1 May 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 7 May 2017.
    (f) Round six (6): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 8 May 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 14 May 2017.
    Session 2:
    (g) Round seven (7): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 14 August 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 20 August 2017.
    (h) Round eight (8): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 21 August 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 27 August 2017.
    (i) Round nine (9): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 28 August 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 3 September 2017.
    (j) Round ten (10): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 4 September 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 10 September 2017.
    (k) Round eleven (11): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 11 September 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 17 September 2017.
    (l) Round twelve (12): Commences 10:00am (AEST) on Monday 18 September 2017 and concludes at 5:00pm (AEST) on Sunday 24 September 2017.
  3. Information on how to enter the Competition forms part of these Terms and Conditions. 
  4. By entering the Competition, You (‘Entrant’) are deemed to accept these Terms and Conditions. 
  5. Entry is free and open to undergraduate and postgraduate USQ students who pay the student amenities fee and are participating in the Headstrong Online Program. 
  6. Students who withdraw from the Online Headstrong Program during the Competition Period will be ineligible for prize draws from the commencement date of the next Round, and will be unable to re-join the Program or Competition.
  7. To enter, Entrants must post (the posting being the ‘Submission’ as detailed below for each Round) on the competition post within the Headstrong Closed Facebook Group, in the Round they wish to enter, so that the Submission correctly meets the requirements and it is current for the conclusion date of the relevant Round (the ‘Entry’). 
    Round one (1): After completing Module 1 (Values), describe how you feel in twenty (20) words or less.
    Round two (2): After completing Module 2 (Acceptance), name one (1) strategy that has helped you let go of that control so you can do what matters.
    Round three (3): After completing Module 3 (Cognitive Defusion), describe how it will assist you with uni and life in twenty (20) words or less.
    Round four (4): After completing Module 4 (Mindfulness), name one (1) mindfulness exercise you practice each day or each week. 
    Round five (5): Name at least one (1) strategy you have learnt during Headstrong that you will use to help you achieve success while at uni.
    Round six (6): Describe the impact you have experienced completing the Headstrong Online Program in twenty (20) words or less.
    Round seven (7): After completing Module 1 (Values), describe how you feel in twenty (20) words or less.
    Round eight (8): After completing Module 2 (Acceptance), name one (1) strategy that has helped you let go of that control so you can do what matters.
    Round nine (9): After completing Module 3 (Cognitive Defusion), describe how it will assist you with uni and life in twenty (20) words or less.
    Round ten (10): After completing Module 4 (Mindfulness), name one (1) mindfulness exercise you practice each day or each week.  
    Round eleven (11): Name at least one (1) strategy you have learnt during Headstrong that you will use to help you achieve success while at uni.
    Round twelve (12): Describe the impact you have experienced completing the Headstrong Online Program in twenty (20) words or less.
  8. Each Entrant is entitled to make one Entry only in each Competition Round, and subject to clause 6, can enter in as many Competition Rounds as they choose.
  9. Each prize winner may win only once each Round, and three times throughout all Rounds. 
  10. The total value of the Prize Pool for the Competition is AUD$2281.00 comprising of sixty (60) Prizes being mixed Prize Packs. Prize Pack items include: Duffle Bag (AUD$30.00), Mouse Pad (AUD$5.00), Egg Timer (AUD$3.00), packet of Noodles (AUD$0.55), Charger Pack (AUD$15.00), and Throw Rug (AUD$42.50). The number of Prizes for each Round are as follows:
    (a) Round one (1) includes five (5) Prizes, each Prize Pack consisting of: 1 Duffle Bag and 1 Charger Pack.
    (b) Round two (2) includes five (5) Prizes, each Price Pack consisting of: 1 Mouse Pad, 1 Egg Timer, 1 packet of Noodles, and 1 Charger Pack.
    (c) Round three (3) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Throw Rug and 1 Egg Timer.
    (d) Round four (4) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Mouse Pad, 1 Egg Timer, 1 packet of Noodles, and 1 Charger Pack.
    (e) Round five (5) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Duffle Bag and 1 Charger Pack.
    (f) Round six (6) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Throw Rug and 1 Egg Timer.
    (g) Round seven (7) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Duffle Bag and 1 Charger Pack.
    (h) Round eight (8) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Mouse Pad, 1 Egg Timer, 1 packet of Noodles, and 1 Charger Pack.
    (i) Round nine (9) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Throw Rug and 1 Egg Timer. 
    (j) Round ten (10) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Mouse Pad, 1 Egg Timer, 1 packet of Noodles, and 1 Charger Pack.
    (k) Round eleven (11) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Duffle Bag and 1 Charger Pack.
    (l) Round twelve (12) includes five (5) Prize Packs consisting of: 1 Throw Rug and 1 Egg Timer.
  11. Prizes shall not be redeemable or transferable for cash. USQ reserves the right to substitute a Prize or part of a Prize for another Prize or item of equal value or greater value in the event the Prize is not able to be awarded.  Any change in the value of the Prize between the commencement and conclusion of the Competition is not the responsibility of USQ. 
  12. Entrants will be selected as Potential Winners based on the criteria of creativity and originality of the Submission for the relevant Round as judged in the sole discretion of USQ by a panel made up of staff from the USQ Online Marketing Team (Marketing and Student Attraction) at O1, University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Queensland 4350 at 11am on the first business day after conclusion date of the Round. Potential Winners will be notified by email and announced on the USQ Headstrong Closed Facebook Group. To successfully claim the Prize and be a Winner, as determined by USQ, the Potential Winners must within five (5) days of receipt of the emailed notification – 
    (a) acknowledge receipt of the emailed notification and
    (b) provide a postal address for delivery of the Prize via registered post.
  13. In the event a Prize is unclaimed or a winner is not determined, a second chance selection will occur at the same place as the original selection within seven (7) days of the original Prize selection date. In the event the second chance Prize is unclaimed or a winner is not determined, the Prize will not be awarded.
  14. USQ will mail the Prize to each winner within five (5) business days of a winner successfully claiming the Prize and being determined a winner.
  15. USQ reserves the right to disqualify any Entry in their discretion which is deemed by the University to be inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory or in excess of one Entry.
  16. Entrant warrants that he or she has the full right, title and power to grant and agrees to grant to USQ:
    a. An assignment, or in the case of Copyright Content, an irrevocable, royalty free, perpetual, non-exclusive, world-wide licence (including a right to sub-licence to others) of the Entrant’s Intellectual Property (IP) rights in the Submission.
    b. All consents and permissions to the following acts done in relation to the Content regardless of whether those acts or omissions might otherwise infringe the Entrant’s Moral Rights in the Content:
    i. Failure to identify authorship or attribute authorship;
    ii. Altering, varying, amending, or modifying the Content, format, colours, layout, style, materially or otherwise; or
    iii. Adding any additional content or information;
    for USQ (and any sub-licensees) to use, adapt, reproduce, modify, translate, publish, publicly display and distribute the Content in the Submission for educational, promotional, communication, information activities, and agrees to execute any formal paperwork required by USQ to this effect. This clause shall survive the conclusion of the Competition.
  17. All decisions of USQ in relation to the conduct of the Competition are final binding and conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. Your Personal Information as defined by the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) may be collected and used and disclosed by USQ for university and Competition purposes and other incidental and associated functions and activities including to contact you with information and updates about USQ programs and events unless USQ is notified otherwise by you hitting the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in the email communication or emailing study@usq.edu.au and requesting to be removed from the USQ database. By participating in the competition you consent to USQ using and disclosing any part of your personal information as set out above including transferring your personal information outside of Australia.  
  19. USQ reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition including extending the End Date of the Competition or varying the time of selection. USQ also reserves the right to disqualify any individual who USQ has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Competition.
  20. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of USQ which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition or otherwise, USQ reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition subject to any written directions under applicable legislation. 
  21. Neither USQ nor any of its employees, contractors, agents, and suppliers associated with this Competition will be liable for any liability, loss, damage, or expense (including direct, indirect or consequential loss or loss of profits) suffered or incurred (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence arising out of, or in connection of the Competition, including if you are a Winner, your use of the Prize; except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum allowable by law)) and the Entrant indemnifies USQ for any loss or damage suffered from any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions including breach of any third parties intellectual property rights and any warranty being false or incorrect. This clause survives the conclusion of the Competition.
  22. The laws of Queensland shall apply to these Terms and Conditions. If any part of these Terms and Conditions are void or unenforceable, then that part will be severed and the remainder construed as if the severed part had never existed.
