Welcome to Online Study at USQ!

Welcome to Semester 2, 2015!

We know that sometimes when you are studying online it can feel like you are studying alone. We heard many of our online students seeking more from their USQ experience. You spoke, and we listened. We wanted to make you aware of a Student Amenities Fee funded project aimed at supporting students through the development of in-person events, online events and online resources, which are housed right here on USQ’s Social Hub.

There are 4 ways you can be involved with USQ this semester, no matter where you are:

Online 1 USQ Peer Support Crew events

We know that your success as an online student often depends on the support you have around you. There are plenty of ways that you engage with USQ as an online student. You might be lucky enough to come on campus for events during common hour, or you may like to start a student club allowing online students in your area to join together. For more information contact USQ Phoenix Central.

If you do join in on a USQ event don’t forget to share them with us. You can share using #usq or email to social.media@usq.edu.au

Online 2 Beyond the Books Online Series

USQ’s Beyond the Books Online Series feature guest speakers who talk about a variety of topics that will help you become more focused, motivated and organised. The Beyond the Books Online Series will offer valuable skills to anyone wanting to study and work smarter.

Online 3 Join in the conversation

Facebook is a great way to stay connected with family and friends, but it can also be a great way to connect with other students studying online. Follow the University of Southern Queensland on Facebook and join the USQ Peer Support Crew event to stay up to date with exclusive online student events, competitions and much more.

Online 4 USQ Social Hub

On USQ’s Social Hub you will find blogs, videos, USQ’s own HeyU magazine and much more. You can browse content on the home page, search for something specific or filter the content based on over 10 categories including, ‘study+online’, ‘study+technology’ and ‘study+kids’.

These fantastic four ways to be involved are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to being an USQ online student. Keep up-to-date here on Social Hub, and across our social media channels (we’ve got Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, just to name a few), and let us know what you are up to. We are so excited to have you studying online at USQ and we can’t wait to share your journey!
