What does a midwife do?

Have you ever wondered, 'what does a Midwife do?'. Playing a vital role in our healthcare system, Midwives monitor the health and wellbeing of women and their babies during and after pregnancy. Midwives educate parents on healthy lifestyle choices, assist during labour and birth, and continue to monitor the mother and baby’s health through postpartum care. Working as a registered Midwife can also involve collaborating with other health care professionals such as obstetricians and paediatricians, as well as advocating for the rights of women during childbirth. After becoming a Midwife you might be based at a hospital, birth centre, or be required to travel to home births.
